The focus is on the following diseases, which are particularly relevant to an ageing population:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Cardiovascular diseases (including heart failure)<\/li><li>Musculoskeletal diseases (including backache and arthritis)<\/li><li>Neurodegenerative diseases (including dementia)<\/li><li>Metabolic and lifestyle-related diseases (including obesity, diabetes and their secondary diseases)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The main focus of this profile area is the scientific justification and validation of mechanisms, with the help of which preventive strategies can be implemented, treatment optimised and the focus can be on rehabilitation.
