The meeting “Tumor Immunology Meets Oncology” (TIMO) connects basic and translational research with clinical implementation. Although immunotherapies have achieved remarkable success in treating many cancer types, a proportion of patients still fail to respond. Thus, there is an urgent need for innovative strategies to improve therapeutic efficacy and patient outcomes, for example, by reprogramming the immune-inhibitory characteristics of tumors and their immunosuppressive microenvironment.
