Das Thema ist Clinical Human Genetics at the Interface of Personalized and Preventive Medicine.
Der Referent ist Prof. Dr. Pablo Villavicencio Lorini von der Medizinischen Hochschule Brandenburg/ Fakultät für Gesundheitswissenschaften.
Advances in molecular genetic diagnostics have fundamentally transformed the role of clinical human genetics in contemporary medicine. Across a broad spectrum of conditions — including neurogenetic, ophthalmogenetic and paediatric disorders as well as hereditary tumour predispositions — genomic analyses not only refine diagnosis and guide targeted therapies, but increasingly form the basis for individualized risk assessment and preventive strategies.
By identifying constitutional genetic risk factors, clinical human genetics enables predictive testing, structured early detection programmes and risk-adapted prevention for affected families. Clinical human genetics operates at the interface of personalized and preventive medicine, extending its impact beyond disease management to the multi-generational counselling and care of at-risk individuals.
