Public engagement/empowerment in the context of human genome editing

Zoom event: Developments in genome editing such as CRISPR/Cas9 allow the human genome to be modified. Despite hopes for new healing treatments, however, there are also concerns about crossing ethical boundaries. For responsible research and development, it is therefore emphasized that the broadest possible public participation is necessary. During this event, the possibilities and limits of participation in the context of genome editing will be debated.

During this event, the possibilities and limits of participation in the context of genome editing will be debated.

 

The event is organized by the research center “Ethics of Genome Editing” at the University of Tübingen, in cooperation with the Juniorprofessorship for medical ethics with a focus on digitization at the FGW Brandenburg. The lecture language is English.
